The second of the two Local Authority requirements you need to comply with before you begin your project is to obtain Building Regulations Approval, which sets out how it is to be built.
Building Regulations are national standards which apply to most types of building work, whether in the home or commercial developments.
By ensuring that work complies with these regulations, our homes are safer and healthier to live in. The regulations also ensure that adequate access and facilities are provided for people with disabilities and include requirements for conservation of fuel and power.
Further details on these regulations can be sought by contacting your Local Authority Building Control Department, or they can be accessed by following this link ……..
